Question 1

What is Sonari?

Accepted Answer

Sonari is a browser instrument you play with your hands in the air. A webcam feeds real-time hand tracking, and your hand's position and pinch drive a synthesizer to play melodies and chords. It is a modern reimagining of soundgo (sound.gojaehyun.com).

Question 2

Is Sonari the same as soundgo?

Accepted Answer

Sonari is inspired by and rebuilt from the original soundgo (sound.gojaehyun.com). It is a restyled, updated take on the same idea — making music by moving your hands in front of a camera.

Question 3

Does Sonari send my camera video anywhere?

Accepted Answer

No. All hand tracking and audio run entirely on your device inside the browser. No video ever leaves your computer.

Question 4

How do I play music with my hands in Sonari?

Accepted Answer

Allow camera access, then move your right hand to play melody (horizontal position sets pitch, height sets volume) and use your left hand for chords. You can also try it without a camera using the virtual-hand mode.
